Oasis

I have always found delight in imagining atmospheric environments. Although they are seemingly similar to reality, an air of fantasy encourages a wonderous story. Through digital composite, I am able to combine and alter images taken from the world I live in to build the scenes presented in my series, Oasis.

To help the viewer naturally step into the created environments, I integrate elements that are familiar from reality, such as tree moss, specular reflection, and living creatures. Dynamic lighting and contrasting values create ambience and a sense of space. Each composite is displayed in a frame like a photograph, as if the imagined world was seen through the lens of my camera rather than simply existing in my mind.

I want the viewer to find themselves introspectively journeying into the imagery and discovering their own wonderous story.
